Welcome to the Official Steve Tucker All Star Jazz Band Website. The All Stars are one of the top South West function and festival traditional swing jazz bands. As befits the busy schedule of a successful working jazz and blues band, the gig list includes all kinds of bookings, from wedding receptions to garden parties, from dinner dances to corporate promotions, and summer balls to riverboat jazz cruises.
Steve launched the jazz band in North Devon (UK) eight years ago, basing the sound on the ever popular classic songs and show tunes of the 1920s, 30s and 40s. The Steve Tucker All Stars have had great popularity around Devon and have benefited from good CD airplay from the BBC in particular, whilst newspapers and magazines have generously acknowledged the band's energy, enthusiasm and performance.

Steve has played or recorded with many top West Country jazz bands and musicians: Derek Winters (Ken Colyer & Chris Blount band), Norman Thatcher (Ken Colyer band), Alan Robinson of the Ken Colyer Trust band, jazz guitarist Tony Oreshko, Jez Huggett (Hawkwind and Band of Gold), Brian Carrick and Roy Pellett, and winner of the prestigious Cleo Laine award Joy Parke, to name a but a few. As far as the All Stars are concerned Summer is upon us , we had a great time playing at the Barbican Jazz And Blues Festival in May brilliant audience, good weather, superb outfits and Fantastic dancers, a wonderful time was had by all, put it it your diaries for next year, well worth a visit www.barbicanjazzandbluesfestival.com we would like to share an email/letter with you received after the band performance at the festival -
Hi Steve,
Didnt want to the day go without letting you know what a great gig it was today - brightened our day and the crowd were having such fun! Line dancing to My Baby Just Cares for Me was such a great sight, jivers going for it, and people smiling and children dancing about.
The organiser chappie walked back from the other side with us and as we came back to your gig I said to him about how brilliant your marketing was, the effort you make with badges for the children and the flags - he was most impressed so hope you get the return gig.
You chose some swinging numbers which people knew and enjoyed and that is what is so different about your band, you engage with the audience and it makes them feel part of it all.
You did Plymouth proud and also the jazz scene so keep it going and let's see you again next year!

We have a new Free Jazz venue for you this Summer at Stowford Holiday Park, Combe Martin, North Devon, the band have three dates for your diaries - SUNDAY THE 24TH OF MAY, Tuesday, 4th of August and Friday, 21st of August - 8pm till 11pm. We have chosen to support and playing at two major Charity events this yea, Cancer Research Barnstaple, A Jazz in the park (under cover) fundraising event at The Old Rectory, Ashford, Barnstaple on SUNDAY THE 12TH OF JULY, bring your summer evening picnic baskets (champagne,strawberries and canapes), chairs and dress in style, The estate is owned by Ann Burnham and her gardens at the Old Rectory are of Chelsea standard a beautiful arrangement of seasonal favourites.Tickets for this event are £10-00 and are in advance as numbers are limited contact Sheila Hale on 01271 850620 and Barbara on 01271 378776, special parking facilities have been arranged at Trelawnley garden centre Ashford where the Jazz Bus will take you to the garden in style.Gates open at 4pm and the All Stars play from 5pm till 8pm.

The All Stars box-set double CD/DVD is in its 7th re-run and radio stations across the world have given us air-play on the strength of the album. Our monthly residency at The Fox and Hounds Country Hotel, Eggesford, Devon is extremely popular. We play on the last Sunday of the month, from 1pm till 4pm the next Jazz Train gig is the 31ST OF MAY. You can get there on the Devon Tarka Line Jazz Train. It leaves Barnstaple, North Devon at 11.10am, Exeter Central at 11.37am, and Exmouth at 11.05am. Added attractions are a great Sunday roast and very friendly company, The Band isn’t playing on the train this season, (due to the new current line-up) so the music won’t start until you reach the Fox and Hounds Hotel... But don’t worry - we’ll be waiting at this very picturesque Country Hotel, to meet you, wine and dine you and get you up dancing after your meal. Hope to see you there. Bude Jazz Festival, one of the biggest Jazz Festivals in Europe, is back on the calendar from 29th August until 5th September. The All Stars have been asked back by popular demand after a hugely successful visit last year, wowing the jazzers and dancers in the dance marquee.The All Stars are sharing top billing in the dance arena with top acts The Jive Aces, Red Stripe, K Zee Zyndeco Band, Hot Banana and Oo Bop Sh`Bam to name a few,The S.T.A.S.J.B. go on stage in the main dance area on Sunday, 30th August at 3-30p.m. www.budejazzfestival.co.uk

Christmas pre thoughts, yes sorry we have to go there, we are planning and taking bookings - you know it makes sense, if you rearrange the letters of eleven plus two - you end up with twelve plus one, now where did we put the decorations !!
