From Popular Swing Jazz and Romantic Ballads to New Orleans Classics
Welcome to the Official Steve Tucker All Star Jazz Band Website. The All Stars are one of the top South West function and festival traditional swing jazz bands. As befits the busy schedule of a successful working jazz and blues band, the gig list includes all kinds of bookings, from wedding receptions to garden parties, from dinner dances to corporate promotions, and summer balls to riverboat jazz cruises.
Steve launched the jazz band in North Devon (UK) six years ago, basing the sound on the ever popular classic songs and show tunes of the 1920s, 30s and 40s. The Steve Tucker All Stars have had great popularity around Devon and have benefited from good CD airplay from the BBC in particular, whilst newspapers and magazines have generously acknowledged the band's energy, enthusiasm and performance.

Steve has played or recorded with many top West Country jazz bands and musicians: Derek Winters (Ken Colyer & Chris Blount band), Norman Thatcher (Ken Colyer band), Alan Robinson of the Ken Colyer Trust band, jazz guitarist Tony Oreshko, Jez Huggett (Hawkwind and Band of Gold), Brian Carrick and Roy Pellett, and winner of the prestigious Cleo Laine award Joy Parke, to name a but a few. Time flies as well as swings! It is now seven years since Steve launched the All Stars and the popularity of this West Country six-piece has soared over the years, having played many top-notch parties, weddings, dinner-dances, parades, riverboat jazz cruises and major pop/jazz festivals. We celebrate with the launch of the band's new box set CD and DVD, 27 songs on two CDs and a half an hour film of the boys performing at one of the biggest music and extreme sports festivals in Europe. It is by popular demand that this special limited edition box-set has become available, with audiece requests and favourite songs from the band.
On the recordings you will hear popular mainstream jazz standards, New Orleans classics, deep-rooted spirituals, boogie shuffle, dance rhythms and late night, slow sultry jazz moods. The price of this new box set is £15 available through this website - see the merchandise page - and at gigs.

The All Stars have been booked again to play at this years internationally renowned Bude Jazz Festival. The boys play on Monday the 25th and Friday the 29th of August. There is a cracking line up of bands this year - see the Festival website for details www.budejazzfestival.co.uk
The Jazz Trains are proving a great success, every last Sunday of the month is the date for your diaries. The band play at the picturesque Fox and Hounds Country Hotel in Eggesford, Devon starting at 1pm. A table booking for Sunday lunch is advisable on 01769 580345. The trains leave for Eggesford from Barnstaple and Exeter Central, for train times see the gig page. Come along for a great afternoon of fun and dancing.

The 'helpful websites when booking your event' section on the band's website is proving very popular, as is the interesting website links on the contact page, and if you enjoy the bands music the new box set is a must, you can hear clips on 'Myspace'.
